If Complaining Were An Olympic Event, Americans Would Win The Gold

Let me see if I have this straight.

Everybody on Facebook and Twitter is mad at NBC because they are showing the Olympics on a tape delay? Is that right?

Would they rather NBC show the Olympic events live at two o’clock in the afternoon, when everybody is at work, and show re-runs of Mad About You in prime time?

Those who are complaining about the results know they are just one click away. But they cannot refrain from logging into Facebook to check up on their frienemies. And once they start scrolling through their feed, they spoil that night’s events.

Then they blame the messenger.

Are we that undisciplined that we can’t stay away for a day so that we can watch Michael Phelps swim for the gold in unspoiled splendor?

Or, are we just looking for a reason to complain about something?
