People are so busy, and reading so many blogs, that it takes a lot of time to comment. Also, with tools like backtype connect (only for wordpress Brad...c'mon..change it over already! :)) I get every RT of my link as a comment on my post, so it does at the value back to the post PLUS get my name out there. Although, I will say, I would much prefer a real comment than a RT because it means that someone thought the post was worth the time to leave a meaningful thought behind, and not just click a button.
